Diakonia Magazine is a quarterly publication for office bearers in the Canadian, American and Free Reformed churches, as well as groups and individuals interested in educational material for elders and deacons. In 2021 we celebrated 35 years of publication!
We are so thankful for the support we’ve received to continue to publish this publication. We wouldn’t be here without you, our faithful readers, and also the many contributors over the years.
As we enter our 39th year, we are updating our website to improve our digital publication and better access to our previous issues for our subscribers.
HISTORY
We celebrated 35 years of publication in 2021! Thank you for your support and readership over the years. Since 1987, we have published 39 volumes and shipped to 5 continents, 8 countries and have a current subscription base of about 1,000 individuals.
Excerpt from Volume 1 Number 1:
“In 1986, a conference for office-bearers was held in Abbotsford, BC, Canada, attended by elders, deacons and ministers of the Canadian (American) Reformed Churches. There it was recommended that serious attention be given to the possibility of publishing a magazine which would serve the needs of officers in the church. true, we have our regular ecclesiastical publications; however, it was noted that nothing of a specialized nature exists to assist those who minister to the body of Christ.”
